EVERYONE WOULD AGREE THAT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE IS THE BEST FORMULA FOR KEEPING YOUR ROBOT OPERATIONAL 24 HOURS / DAY AND EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR INVESTMENT.
Justification for Acieta PM Program
Assures correct preventive robot maintenance schedules are performed by qualified FANUC trained personnel to avoid premature mechanical and/or electrical failure.
Current control and vision software backups to ensure quick software restore of programs and system software in case of a catastrophic control component failure or inadvertent deletion of data.
Assurance of installation of correct FANUC recommended lubricants and parts.
Decrease of machine down time and loss of production due to undetected problems. The robot will be inspected and tested for worn parts, which would normally not be detected until a down condition occurs. Service and parts can be scheduled so as not to interfere with normal production.
Preventive Maintenance may be scheduled up to 12 months ahead of time guaranteeing times and rates.
HOW OFTEN DO ROBOTS NEED MAINTENANCE?
Robot maintenance should be an integral part of your overall maintenance plan. While manufacturer specs differ, FANUC robot preventive maintenance is recommended by the manufacturer after 3,850 hours of use or one calendar year — whichever is earlier. For other manufacturers, maintenance of industrial robots may be recommended up to every 10,000 hours. Note, however, that basic industrial automation maintenance should occur more frequently, as often as daily checks for sensor surface cleaning and visual checks.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF ROBOTS DON’T GET SERVICED?
Without robot maintenance, issues may quickly arise. These include:
*Improper functioning, whether due to dirty sensors and optics, fluid leaks, or other problems
*Part defects
*Slower production speeds
*Reduced component and equipment life span
DO I REALLY NEED A ROBOT MAINTENANCE PLAN?
Yes. Plans such as a FANUC robot maintenance plan are not only important to the quality of the finished product, they are critical to productivity. Poorly maintained robots may take longer to carry out operations, or may lead to rework or increased part rejections. More importantly, maintenance can extend the life of your equipment exponentially, helping you see a strong return on your investment, both in equipment and maintenance.
